The Victoria's Secret Angel on her favorite s bras and go-to workouts.
If you thought most Victoria's Secret models earn those sick bodies through a hardcore diet of water, lettuce, and...well that's about it...congratulations, you played yourself. Many, including newly minted Angel Elsa Hosk go for intense workouts like Aerospace NYC, Flywheel Sports barre classes, and Hosk's personal favorite, boxing. It's fitting then, that when the model popped by the office last week to chat about Victoria's Secret's latest promotion—buy any sports bra, get a pair of workout pants for free—the first topic of discussion was which bras she loved the most.
"This is my personal favorite," Hosk told us, gesturing to the new Angel by Victoria's Secret sports bra. "It looks really cute on the body and it's really comfortable. If you're like an A or a B this cup is perfect." She added, "These new maximum support ones are really, really good. If you have a bigger cup, then this is all you need." Read on as Hosk shares more of her favorite bras, go-to workouts, and why she's team no-frills at the gym.
I recently took an Aerospace workout in the Knockout Front-Close bra! It was one of the hardest workouts I've ever done.
We were talking about that earlier. I almost threw up, it's so hard. The bra, though, gives you such good support for high intensity workouts.
They're like armor. That's what I felt like.
They're like armor, but it's comfortable. It won't move, but it won't squish your boobs in. I think often the biggest problem when you wear these is it creates just like one uni-boob. These don't. Also, what's nice is all the the bras range in size. We have bras that go up to a 38DD, 36DDD, and even as low as a 32A.
So we've got something for everybody, literally. Depending on your cup size, or activities—and style wise, too.
Last time we talked you told me you did a lot of boxing. Do you still do that?
I still do boxing.
Where do you go?
Mendez Boxing in New York.
I know. It's very gritty. It's like all professional boxers, but I kind of like it that way. It inspires me a lot. You don't have to look too pretty when you go in there. We were just doing Aerospace and the studio is so open, it's light and everyone sees you. And you're like, "Oh, shit. I feel like I'm on a runway." My boxing game is like, you get in there, you sweat, you go nuts...But, it's fun to mix it up with bar training, pilates, yoga, things that will stretch you out. Because boxing is so much about hunching.
What do you wear to go boxing? Do you wear matching clothes?
I wear a sport bra. The maximum support one and just these leggings. That's all I ever wear all the time. It's hot to wear anything. I sweat like a pig, and I don't want to walk around in anything else.
Do you have different outfits for different workouts? A boxing look versus a spin look versus a bar look?
In my gym, I don't want to wear anything too bright or crazy. I don't want to attract too much attention because there's professional boxers around, you know? But maybe when I go to classes I want to look cuter. Walking around town, all these girls are so fashionable. And I'm so lucky because I can wear this Victoria Secret. It's the best stuff ever. Maybe then I'll put on something that's more printed, and more colorful, and more fun.
I do feel like when I started going to bar classes, I felt like, crap I've got to step my game up.
Exactly! Crap! You got to step it up! You see all these girls, and they've got different outfits everyday...You need to be as on it as you are with your day-to-day outfits.
This is what I do: I have "the athletic look" I wear out on the weekends when I'm doing errands that's like 'Oh, I could have been coming from the gym,' even if I'm not...Do you ever do that?
Yeah, yeah. I do. All of the things from Victoria's Secret are so easy to take from running errands into the gym and vice versa, because it is so cute and it's acceptable to wear now out in the streets―you throw on a pair of sneakers, maybe even a knit sweater over it, and it's cute with like, a leather jacket. You look like you could be going to the gym, or you've just been there.
Like I could wear what you're wearing and just say, "Oh, I'm going to yoga!"
[Laughs] But actually for pizza.
